Rare pair of Marbediah rugs from Israel.
Operating between 1906 to 1931, and run by Shamuel Ben David, the Marbediah rug workshop in Jerusalem Israel were at the forefront of Israel’s Art Nouveau and Art and Craft design movement. The name Marbediah stems from the Hebrew word Marvad, which means carpet or mat.
