The Leopard was a symbol of power and courage in ancient Persia. Persian Leopards are rare with roughly only one thousand remaining in the wild. They are primarily concentrated in the Hyrcanian forests between the Alborz mountains and the Caspian Sea in Northern Iran. (at Williamsburg, Brooklyn)
